This photograph is of the family from Barramore Farm on Dartmoor. I was at workshop with several students listening to Chris Chapman who's work is often of people and their lives. This insipered me to take this photo of the family reflecting typical family life on a farm, from the clothes they wear, to the tractor in the background. They are all grinning and know they are having their picture taken but it is still natural. The landscape is important too; it is their home and it is what they make it.

Georgie in the Pool
On such a bright day it took me a while to get the aperture right so i made my sister float there for quite a while. The blue of the water is gorgeous and it looks so inviting! I've put the person in the bottom corner to include more landscape which shows that there's nobody else around, suggesting loneliness. However, the fact that she's on a rubber ring suggests that there had been more people with her playing in the pool but they've all gone and she's been left alone, reluctant to get out.
Georgie and the Cup of Tea
This is my sister who hates to have her picture taken. So this is a compromise; she is blurred slightly so not completely clear. When i took the picture the focus was on the mug but I've blurred it even more when editing. I love the way the handle shapes her face which makes her the main subject of the photo even though she is small and almost hidden behind the mug.

Hombre en el Banco
I tried to take this without the man realising but I think he knew what i was doing. My mum and I think he was waiting for someone as he was constantly looking at his watch. He just sat there for a while and watched the world go by.
Mum and Dad at Javéa
I took this by the beach in Spain. Unlike my others pictures, my parents are posing as they are aware that I am taking the picture. What i love is that this is the first pose they thought of when they noticed me. You can tell my mum is happy because of the big grin on her face and is leaning in towards my dad. The relationship between them is lovely and it makes me smile.
